How systematic innovation does work

At RIWO, we are systems thinkers at heart. For years, we have been supplying control solutions for high-tech systems in, among other things, machine construction and the process industry. With a strong in-house R&D department and as a system integrator that invests in its own technology platforms, such as RIMOTE, RIBOTIC and RINEWABLE, we take innovation to the next level.

Our philosophy? Innovation should not be a coincidence. Therefore, together with the Innovation Guild , we have developed a new approach to the early innovation phases for machine builders based on their TIP method. With this, we bring structure to the IDEE and CONCEPT phases of innovation. How exactly does that work?

Here, together with the customer, we make the translation from vision to technology, from idea to system. And that in three clear steps: 

Step 1: Online consultation 
We start light and smart: an online intake where we explore the innovation challenge. Do you have a sustainability issue? Then together we can quickly calculate the battery capacity with our RINEWABLE calculation tool. Do you have a robotics issue then we'll look at what building blocks we already have within our RIBOTIC platform. In any case, using the Innovation Canvas, we discuss all innovation visions, questions and challenges.

Step 2: On-site technology intake
Then we physically visit the customer on site with an account manager and systems engineer. Together, we evaluate the current status of the system and technology. We look around the work environment, discuss existing and newly desired system components, and brainstorm hands-on options.

Step 3: 2-day Workshop
The real acceleration comes during our proven workshop at the RIWO site in Oldenzaal. In two intensive days, we bring our experts to the table, perform a functional and technical decomposition from the end user's perspective and determine together which technologies are already present and which parts still need to be developed. Your domain knowledge and our technology knowledge flow together in a standardized but flexible program.
