A weaving machine to manufacture heat exchangers for horticultural greenhouses.

Background
Building a prototype, zero-series and production machine to manufacture high-efficiency heat exchangers for horticultural greenhouses.
The machine produces semi-finished products that are assembled into finished products in a subsequent process. These are thin copper tubes with copper wires of 0.1 mm diameter between them.
Challenge
Good heat transfer is based on the heat transfer of air to thin wires woven around aquiferous capillaries. These capillaries must be accurately woven between copper wires.
Solution
Together with Achterbosch Machinebouw, we developed a machine based on traditional weaving frames. The machine weaves and soldered the capillaries between 1,500 copper wires. The end product of this machine, a long, woven mat, forms the basis of the final heat exchangers.
