Labor costs are rising and the availability of qualified employees is becoming scarcer. Therefore, it is important to think about this when designing new machines and plants.
The trend of traditional drawing requires a lot of craftsmanship, in this regard hours are under pressure. By building a good library based on a modular functional concept, this can be realized.
Your challenge
We design the control hardware of machine and process plants using Eplan P8. Eplan is a leading drawing package that goes beyond drawing. Due to the database with properties of components, the package can generate various processing. Meanwhile, the first projects have been realized based on a functional diagram. This trend is continuing. By tackling the drawing process structurally instead of engineering on a project-by-project basis, engineering costs within projects can be saved. This means that existing libraries must be revised. Your challenge is to create a library project with libaries 'macros'.
What will you do?
- Consideration of appropriate definitions based on the s88 iso model;
- Setting up and updating (existing) libraries;
- Provide the parts and components in the library with appropriate engineering content;
- "Testing" the new library by setting up a fictitious new process installation.
